The Women Lawyers Association of Michigan – Oakland | Women’s Bar Association (WBA) presented Donna MacKenzie with the Evelyn Forrest Respected Advocate Award. The award was presented on May 28, 2020 at the WBA’s annual meeting, which was held virtually.
The WBA named its award after its inaugural president. Each year, the WBA gives the award to a woman in the legal profession who best serves and represents her clients.
“The women in this organization are incredibly inspiring and empowering,” said MacKenzie. “Words cannot express how honored I am to have received this award and I will be eternally grateful for their support.”
MacKenzie was president of the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan when the organization celebrated its 100th anniversary. This year, she will become the president of the Michigan Association for Justice and the Chair of the American Association for Justice’s Nursing Home Litigation Group.
MacKenzie has been a partner at Olsman MacKenzie Peacock & Wallace for more than 10 years. She represents victims of nursing home abuse and neglect, medical malpractice and sexual assault.
