Jacqueline Liu, RN, BSN, earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan.  She has practiced as a Registered Nurse for over three decades, working in various facilities, including intensive care units, crisis facilities, psychiatric wards, nursing homes, and residential facilities that treat mentally ill individuals with substance use disorders.

A critical element of nursing home negligence cases is determining whether a facility or care provider took appropriate action to protect the health and safety of a resident.  To assist in making this determination, Ms. Liu thoroughly reviews medical, surgical, long-term acute care, sub-acute rehabilitation, and behavioral health records of injured elderly victims and conducts detailed interviews.  Once she completes a comprehensive nursing assessment of an adult, geriatric, or developmentally delayed individual, she provides expert medical guidance to our Michigan nursing home abuse and neglect attorneys regarding the level of care that should have been provided based upon the resident’s unique healthcare needs.  Her insight allows our attorneys to make well-informed decisions backed by medical science and information.

While working for the Board of Nursing as a case manager for nurses with substance abuse issues, her interest in medical negligence and elder care law was peaked.  Ms. Liu subsequently developed a passion for conducting research to understand patients’ unique conditions and needs further, as she recognized that failure to meet such needs often results in catastrophic injuries, disorders, and fatalities.  Currently, her dedication and keen investigatory techniques help our team build strong and persuasive cases for maximum compensation for nursing home abuse and neglect victims across Michigan.

How I Serve Clients

Through my work with the developmentally disabled, those with substance abuse issues, and the elderly, I have witnessed the devastating ramifications that patients suffer when medical personnel fail to uphold proper standards of care.  Abuse and neglect are so prevalent in nursing homes that it is truly disheartening, especially for individuals who do not have loved ones who can fight to protect their interests.

After over two decades of working in a variety of medical fields, including intensive care, behavioral health, utilization review, substance abuse treatment, and senior care, I dedicated my work to helping victims who are abused by negligent medical personnel and facilities.  In pursuit of this goal, I previously worked with the state of Michigan to uphold the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act, reform legislation that Congress enacted to protect residents from abuse in nursing homes, and I currently utilize my medical experience to cast a light on nursing homes and long-term care facilities that provide substandard care to aging residents.  I understand the nuances involved in nursing home negligence matters, and I use this knowledge to help victims and their families tenaciously fight for the justice they deserve.
