What Happens When You’re Referred to Olsman MacKenzie Peacock?
All clients are contacted by our office on the same business day as the referral and arrangements are made for the client to speak with a registered nurse. Our nursing home litigation team is a made up of five attorneys and four registered nurses.
After the pre-investigation is conducted, our team determines whether we believe we can successfully pursue a case for the client. The client and referring attorney are notified of these decisions throughout the process.
Click on the video above to hear attorney Donna MacKenzie explain our very thorough referral process. As Ms. MacKenzie explains:
“We review all the cases with both a nurse and a lawyer, and we determine whether or not we can prove the things that we would need to prove in order to file a lawsuit. Many times this involves reviewing medical records and if we need to review medical records, we are able to obtain the medical records for the client so that the client doesn’t have to go running around getting copies of their records. We review the information that we’re able to get from both the client and the records to make a determination as to whether or not we can go forward with a lawsuit. Many times after records come in, we realize that we didn’t get all of the records that we requested, that things were missing, that things may have been altered, and through the team of both lawyers and nurses, we’re able to piece together stories and how things happened, and we’re able to seek justice for people who’ve been injured.”
