Rehabilitation Center

Many people in the course of their lives will need inpatient treatment or rehabilitation for problems related to alcohol and drug addiction or occupational therapy at a rehabilitation center.

When someone is looking for help by entering a rehabilitation center they are exceptionally vulnerable both physically and mentally. Rehab centers are intended to be safe sanctuaries for those in need, but the reality is many injuries and abuses occur at rehab centers each year. Rehabilitation centers have an obligation to make sure their patients are safe from any harm but some are negligent.

Rehab Center abuse comes in a multitude of forms including:

  • Physical assault
  • Sexual abuse
  • Verbal abuse
  • Early discharge
  • Not monitoring self-destructive actions
  • Humiliating the patient by taking humiliating photos and posting them on social media
  • Confining to a chair or bed
  • Overmedicating or under medicating
