Dietary measures include avoiding or limiting caffeine, spicy foods, citrus fruits, tomato based foods, and fatty foods.  Also increase your fiber and water intake and eat small frequent meals followed by a glass of water. Do not eat before bed, eating three hours before lying down and / or elevating the head of your bed helps to reduce and manage your risks. Losing weight and exercise are recommended, but do not exercise immediately after eating. Avoid heavy lifting, reduce stress, take medications as recommended and be sure to follow-up with your physician regularly.
