Extreme caution should be used when admitting a loved one into any nursing home or assisted living facility. We are currently litigating a case against Hearthstone Assisted Living in Brownstown which is trying to force the family of a resident who died following a preventable fall into binding arbitration. The son of our client was presented with a 20 page document and told to sign it. Hearthstone also includes language making whoever signs personally liable for the bills.
