The Detroit Free Press ran a detailed article on Sunday, October 10th, regarding home care nurses and the increased need for their services. Under Michigan law, home health care is an unlicensed business. There is no regulation or oversight of people who perform these services. As a result, consumers have no “source” to go to for information or knowledge about who they are about to hire. Many home health care nurses are excellent and do a wonderful job of caring for their patients, however, this is not always the case.
