Wrong Medication Kills Nursing Home Resident

We are preparing to file suit on behalf of a family whose mother was killed by a medication error at a nursing home in Livingston County. She died as a result of being placed in an irreversible hypoglycemic coma by a LPN who repeatedly gave her diabetic medication intended for her roommate.  Our client’s mother was not diabetic and the facility failed to disclose the error to the state of Michigan or the Deptartment of  Heath and Human Services. The  LPN was terminated.  The only remedy for the family is to seek justice in our court system. Medication errors are common.

The rule know as the 5 R’s is clear: 1) right patient; 2) right medication; 3) right dosage; 4 right time; 5) right route.
